Pope Leo XIV a worthy successor, says theologian

Ljubljana, 9 May - The new pope will be a worthy successor to his recent predecessors, but not a mere copy of them, Miran Špelič, a professor at the Ljubljana Faculty of Theology, has told the STA following the election of Leo XIV. He views him as an international figure capable of addressing diverse audiences, believing him to be the pope the Church currently needs.
