The most critical among the factors of competitiveness of the Slovene economy is the unit cost, leading Slovene business people in industry and services said in a survey about competitiveness of Slovene enterprises in the first quarter of 1998. Some other elements influencing competitiveness have been given a negative mark, including the industrial policy, management, regulations, exchange rate, additional labour costs and the use of working time.
