Red Cross Presents its Aid to Earthquake-Stricken Posocje

The Red Cross of Slovenia has so far raised over US$ 503,000 to help the Posocje region in northwestern Slovenia stricken by an earthquake on 12 April, Red Cross of Slovenia Secretary-General Mirko Jelenič told a news conference on Wednesday. In addition, goods worth some US$ 364,000 were collected (foodstuffs, health and beauty products, heaters, mobile homes, etc.). Besides, the Red Cross presented the 1998 Red Cross Week of Solidarity, to be under way from 1 through 7 June, and this year's campaign 'Never Alone' designed to raise funds for Red Cross charity programmes.
