Less Innovative Enterprises in Slovenia than in the EU

In the Slovene processing industry 32 percent of all enterprises (or 281 out of 880 enterprises) engaged in research in the period from 1994 through 1996, according to a survey conducted last year by the National Statistical Office, which employed the OECD methodology and referred to the EU's statistical office Eurostat. Eurostat data have revealed, however, that a half of all processing industry in the EU conducted research aimed at innovations, Simona Frank of the National Statistical Office told a news conference on Monday.
