Premier Drnovsek: Technical Government Would Mean Denying Elections

Slovenia's Prime Minister Janez Drnovsek rejected a proposal to form a caretaker government of experts because "this would mean denying elections" in an interview for National Television on Tuesday evening. Other issues touched on were two letters written by President Milan Kucan, proposals to change the current election system, economic trends in Slovenia, the fiscal and pension reforms and changes to be introduced into the public finances. Drnovsek also tackled Slovenia's accession to the EU and the nation's relations with its neighbour Croatia.
