The final panels at the 27th 1998 NATO Economic Colloquium, to wind up late on Friday, have focussed on the role of the state in international economic relations. Other topics discussed by some 150 participants from 22 countries were economic development and reforms in the partner countries, as well as the role of the state in providing a framework for economic stability, growth and security, especially in countries in transition.
