Van der Pas Encouraging about Slovenia

Ljubljana, 22 June - EU/SLOVENIA/EUROPIAN/COMMISSION/ENLARGEMENT

He cited capital markets liberalization as the outstanding issue that Slovenia will have to address, stressing it was "the essential point" for the entry in the internal market which is not possible without the freedom of capital flow. Van der Pas said resolving this problem was also important for Slovenia, which as a small economy needs to be linked up to the internal market also through the financial markets and through the European and world markets, which is very important for Slovenia's future and an essential condition for accession to the internal market.
