The Church remains a highly sensitive point of Slovene politics and public opinion and so does the fear of it, Anton Stres, head of the church commission for the settlement of outstanding issues concerning church status in Slovenia, writes in the catholic weekly Druzina. He goes on wondering how is it possible that Slovenia in this point stands out among its neighbours and even in a wider Central European environment.
