Solemnity in Memory of Russian POW's at Russian Chapel below Vrsic

A ceremony in memory of Russian prisoners of war who died in a snowslide during WW I was held Sunday at the small Russian Chapel below the Vrsic mountain pass (north-west). Apart from Slovene President Milan Kucan, who laid a wreath at the chapel, the commemoration was also attended by guests from Russia, including Vladimir Lukin, the chairman of Duma's international affairs committee and a former Russian ambassador to Washington, as well as Arhimandrit Feofan, first deputy head of the international church relations service of the Russian Orthodox Church.
