Minister Dragonja Writes to Croatian Counterpart Porges

Slovenia's Economics Minister Metod Dragonja sent a letter Friday to his Croatian counterpart Nenad Porges, explaining the Slovene government had passed a decree to transform Krsko N-Plant (NEK) into a public establishment because the Privatization Conclusion Act took effect on 1 August, under which all companies that had not been privatized yet were automatically transferred to the Slovene Development Corporation (SRD). The status of NEK and the role of the Croatian energy company HEP would have been considerably worse, if the decree had not been passed, according to Dragonja. The minister stressed that was a temporary measure and would have no consequences for the final decisions to be reached by the Slovene and Croatian side.
