First Guidelines for Negotiations with EU Ready
Ljubljana, 9 August - SLOVENIA/EU/NEGOTIATIONS
In its last session before the summer recess, the government passed a partial motion for negotiations and for the signing of the international contract on the membership of the Republic of Slovenia in the European Union, which also contains draft guidelines for the first seven fields to be negotiated with the EU. In early September, the government will submit the motion and the guidelines to the parliament and its working bodies. Following adoption, Slovenia, along with other first round candidate countries (the Czech Republic, Poland, Hungary, Estonia and Cyprus), will submit the guidelines to the European Commission.
