87.7-Percent Import-Export Coverage in the First Half of 1998

In the first half of 1998, Slovenia's exports amounted to US$ 4.365 billion, which is a 6.1-percent increase compared to the same 1997 period, while imports amounted to US$ 4.976 billion, a 4.3-percent increase compared to the same last year's period. According to the interim data of the National Office of Statistics, Slovenia recorded a US$ 610.1-million foreign trade deficit in the period from January to July, which is a US$ 47.4-million decrease compared to the same 1997 period. The import-export coverage in the period came to 87.7 percent.
