State Secretary Petric Comments on U.S. Attacks Conducted in Afghanistan and Sudan

Ljubljana believes that "under existing circumstances" yesterday's U.S. attacks against terrorist targets in Afghanistan and Sudan were "the only possibility to respond adequately" to the bomb attacks against the U.S. embassies in Nairobi and Dar es Salaam, Slovenia's Foreign Ministry State Secretary Ernest Petric told journalists Friday upon his return from a visit to the UN Security Council in New York. According to Petric, Slovenia, currently presiding over the Security Council, was assured by the USA that yesterday's military action was direct consequences of the attacks in Nairobi and Dar es Salaam.
