Dnevnik: A New Crisis of the System

The crisis in Russia has already reached such extensions that the existence of the current system has become uncertain, the daily Dnevnik writes on Tuesday and compares the current circumstances with the situation in August 1991, when a part of the Soviet leadership tried to maintain the Soviet Union by force, but it was exactly Russian President Boris Yeltsin who stopped the attempt of a coup d'etat, and in October 1993, when Yeltsin justifiably dissolved the Supreme Soviet, but he obviously showed self-will by excessive use of force when the tanks bombarded the parliament building.
