Slovenia's Gov't Receives Mandate for Actual Negotiations with the EU
Ljubljana, 8 September - SLOVENIA/EU/NEGOTIATION
The parliamentary international affairs committee supported in Tuesday's joint session with the European affairs commission a partial initiative for negotiations and conclusion of an international agreement on Slovenia's membership in the European Union and thus provided Slovenia's government with a mandate to start the actual negotiations with the EU for the first seven areas. The central part of the initiative consists of position papers for the seven areas, which the government is expected to submit to the European Commission in Brussels on time, i.e. by 15 September.
