Premier Drnovsek on National Budget, Economic Trends and Relations with Neighbouring Countries

Coalition leaders discussed Wednesday the 1999 budget, the government's key project after the summer recess, Premier Drnovsek told his regular monthly news conference on Wednesday. He said the government ministries had proposed budget that exceed last year's government coffers by SIT 220 billion, which promises tough budget talks in the coalition and the parliament. Harmonizing ministry proposals will be the hardest job this year for both the government and the coalition, Premier Drnovsek said.
