Canadian Defence Minister Concludes Visit to Slovenia
Ljubljana, 14 September - SLOVENIA/CANADA/EGGLETON
Canadian Minister for National Defence Art Eggleton completed his two-day visit to Slovenia on Monday afternoon, after having held separate talks with his Slovene counterpart Alojz Krapez, Premier Janez Drnovsek and President of Slovenia Milan Kucan. As Slovenia has made remarkable progress in the last few short years after independence, the nation is a suitable candidate for NATO, the Canadian minister told a news conference at the conclusion of the visit. Canada will therefore continue to support Slovenia's efforts to join the military alliance. Eggleton's visit to Slovenia was part of his tour of Central and East European countries.
