Negotiating Groups Meet to Discuss Preparations for Treaty on Krsko N-Plant

Ljubljana, 17 September - KRSKO/N-PLANT/SLOVENIA/CROATIA
The first working meeting was held Thursday in Ljubljana by the Slovene and Croatian negotiating groups in charge of drafting a Slovene-Croatian treaty which will regulate the status and ownership of the jointly-owned Krsko nuclear power plant (NEK). The meeting was in accordance with an agreement reached by the Slovene and Croatian government delegations at the Mokrice meeting on 25 August 1998. At that time, Slovene and Croatian officials agreed that a solution to key unresolved issues should be found within three months.
