Weekly Review of Slovene Economy from 13 through 19 September

Ljubljana, 20 September - Contrary to expectations and despite intensive negotiations, the Petrol oil company and the government failed to sign a contract which would create conditions under which the Nafta Lendava refinery would be brought back on line. The Economics Ministry said the positions of the two sides had been harmonized, with the exception of one article, which should be agreed upon next week. The Ministry in fact expects the state legal defence officer to give approval to the contract, which will then be ready for confirmation at a government correspondence session.
