EU: External Factors Influence Economic Situation in Slovenia; Need for Reforms Pointed out

Brussels, 22 September - The recovery of EU economies had a positive influence on the macroeconomic situation in Slovenia, the European Commission said in its autumn report on the economic situation in EU candidates. A higher growth rate of Slovenia's GDP was chiefly a result of an increase in demand for Slovene exports in the EU. A low salary growth rate, however, made home demand rather weak.
