Road Safety Worsening in Slovenia

The situation on the Slovene roads has been worsening after a relatively short improvement six months ago when a new road safety act took effect in May. Five casualties on Monday joined 11 victims of car crashes last week, which puts this year's dead toll at 274, only 18 persons less than in the same period last year. Fast driving and drunkenness remain the chief causes of car crashes.
