1996 GDP in 1995 Prices Up Slightly

The assessment of changes in the volume of gross domestic product and expenditure categories in fixed prices for the 1996-2000 period will be based on the situation in 1995. Calculated to fixed prices of 1995, the 1996 gross domestic product amounted to SIT 2294 billion or 3.3 percent more than in 1995. This is up 0.2 index points over the 1996 GDP growth in 1992 prices and the figures published so far. In 1997 (in 1995 prices) GDP was at SIT 2382 billion, up 3.8 percent in real terms over 1996, the National Statistical Office reported Wednesday.
