Government Addresses Consequences of Recent Flooding
Ljubljana, 12 November - GOVERNMENT/SESSION/FLOODS
The government discussed reports by relevant ministries and by the state commission for disaster relief on the damage caused by recent flooding in central and eastern Slovenia. The reports put estimated damages at SIT 37.5 billion (about US$ 240 million), with demands for emergency relief projects amounting to SIT 6.6 billion (US$ 42 million). The government allocated SIT 1 billion (US$ 6.3 million) of relief funds in the 1998 budget year.
