The First Economic Forum of CEI Member States Ends Successfully

The ministers in charge of economy and foreign trade of the member states of the Central European Initiative (CEI) held a two-day meeting in Zagreb, which was chaired by Croatian Minister of Economy Nenad Porges. The ministers had a comprehensive exchange of views on the possibilities and prospects for a wider trade liberalisation among the CEI member states in the context of European Integration and expressed their support to trade liberalisation as an important element for achieving long-term growth and sustainable development in the context of globalisation. The ministers emphasized in the joint statement the necessity to continue the trade policies aiming at eliminating substantial barriers to trade among their countries and expressed their concern over the financial crisis, which has been felt far beyond the financial sector.
