Municipal Councils Election: LDS Leads, Followed by SDS

Ljubljana, 23 November - According to the partial unofficial data released by the national electoral commission, the Liberal Democracy of Slovenia (LDS) leads in elections of municipal councils in Slovenia with 25.1 percent of the ballots cast, followed by the Social Democrats (SDS) with 17.3 percent, the United List of Social Democrats (ZLSD) with 13.2 percent, Christian Democrats (SKD) with 10.8 percent, the Slovene People's Party (SLS) with 10.3 percent, independent candidates (over 8 percent), the Democratic Party of Pensioners (DeSUS) with 5 percent, the Slovene National Party (SNS) with 2.2 percent and the Democratic Party (DS) with 2.1 percent.
