Weekly Review of Events From October 22 to 29

Ljubljana, 30 October - The major events in the past week were the continuing dispute between Slovenia and Croatia regarding the settling of refugees in Slovenian holiday facilities in Pineta, Istria, and the Slovenian decision to join the Western defence union. The Croatian Government admitted that it had made a mistake regarding the issue of Bosnian refugees being placed in Slovenian holiday facilities situated on Croatian territory, stating that it had happened due to a lack of coordination between the two ministries concerned. Government in Zagreb has apologised profusely for their "clumsiness" in this issue. Nevertheless, the Slovenian diplomatic core has yet again been presented with a fait accompli.
