Ljubljana, 5 December - Another week has passed without the new defence minister being elected. Minister of Science and Technology acting as interim defence minister, Lojze Marincek, invited president Milan Kucan, the commander in chief of the Slovenian Armed Forces, to attend the first session of his office. President Kucan pledged to provide all support for the activities that had already been decided upon, including primarily the reorganization of the national defence and protection system. President Kucan also received five candidacies for the vacated post of constitutional judge.
