ELES Estimates Damage from Floods at some SIT 300 million

Elektro-Slovenia (ELES), Slovenia's electricity supplier, will finish the 1998 business year with positive results despite a major damage caused by the recent heavy rains on the electricity-transmission network, according to ELES Director General Ivo Banic. The most severely damaged by floods and landslides was the transmission company, with the damage estimated at some SIT 300 million. The most affected was the area around the town of Celje, northeast of Ljubljana.
