Bank of Slovenia Reduces Discount Rate to 8 Percent
Ljubljana, 9 December - The Board of the Bank of Slovenia reduced Tuesday its yearly discount rate from 10 percent to 8 percent. The measure, which takes effect on 1 January 1999, will result in lower interest rates on the loans on deposits (a fall from 11 percent to 9 percent yearly) as well as in lower interests on overdue payments, the Bank of Slovenia said.
