How to Reduce Unemployment in Slovenia
Ljubljana, 14 December - Minister of Labour, Family and Social Affairs Anton Rop spoke Monday about the Slovene labour market and his ministry's plans to curb unemployment. While unemployment among the young job-seekers has fallen gradually in the last few years, there has been an increasing number of jobless among those over 40 years of age. Since 1993, for instance, almost 20,000 workers in this age-group have lost their jobs. The Ministry of Labour will seek to reduce unemployment from 126,548, the figure registered last November, to 110,000 by the end of the next year.
