Discount Rate Reduced to 8 Percent
Ljubljana, 1 January - The annual Bank of Slovenia discount rate has been reduced from 10 percent to 8 percent. The measure takes effect on 1 January 1999 and will result in lower interest rates on the loans on deposits (a fall from 11 percent to 9 percent yearly) as well as in lower interests on overdue payments.
