Ljubljana, 3 January - Annual inflation in Slovenia settled at 6.5 percent in 1998, hitting its record low since national independence. Consumer prices rose by 0.7 percent in December over November. Slovenia sold in the last week of 1998 the remaining shares of the oil company Petrol. On 1 January customs duties were reduced for several industrial products from 32 countries Slovenia with which Slovenia has concluded free trade agreements. Also reduced were for the first time customs duties for cars from the countries with no bilateral free trade agreements.
