Funding of Trbovlje Power Plant to be Decided by Voters in a Referendum
Ljubljana, 8 January - REFERENDUM/TET3
Slovene voters will go to the polls on 10 January to express or withhold in a referendum their support for a government funding scheme to construct the third block of the Trbovlje steam power plant (TET 3). They will also be asked to decide on the government guarantee for the loans to be taken out to construct TET 3. The referendum was called by the National Assembly on the initiative of 30 lawmakers members of the coalition Slovene People's Party (SLS) and two opposition parties, namely the Social Democratic Party (SDS) and Slovene Christian Democrats (SKD).
