Ljubljana, 17 January - REVIEW/WEEKLY/ECONOMY
The bankruptcy senate of the Maribor District Court gave approval last week to the bankrupt car maker TAM's being sold to MTI Europe. Given that the term within which state assistance is to be secured in order to fill the privatisation gap expires on 31 January, the government decided to prolong it until 1 May 2000. The National Assembly is expected to adopt a relevant bill in swift procedure. In addition, the government raised some controlled prices, such as the prices of basic telephone services and postal services as well as the monthly price of the radio and television licence. Slovenia and Croatia finally reached a high degree of understanding about outstanding issues regarding the jointly owned Krsko nuclear power plant.
