Economic Pessimism Gets Stronger in Slovenia
Ljubljana, 19 January - Slovenia's economy follows the economic trends in Europe. In the last months of 1998 the industrial growth was retained merely on account of mining and power industry, Economic Institute of the Ljubljana Faculty of Law states in the latest issue of the monthly Economic Trends. The unemployment rate had exceeded that of 1997 by November and the number of self-employed decreased. The question is whether higher spending at home can replace the decline in export orders, the institute wonders.
