Review - Slovenia's Economy from 16 through 22 January
Ljubljana, 24 January - The beginning of last week was marked by the visit of Italy's Minister of Foreign Trade Piero Fassino, who arrived together with 50 Italian business representatives. The Ministry of Economic Relations and Development picked up international contacts in Asia, while at home the legislators passed the Banking Act and amended the Economic Enterprises Act. Much attention was devoted to the events related to certain companies. The General Assembly of Emona Merkur ended their extremely heated meeting on Saturday morning, while mergers were announced by two Koper-based companies, Intereuropa and Koper Port, as well as Kovinotehna and Kovintrade, both Celje. American investors decided to continue their investing in Slovenia through Sava Kranj, a pneumatics producer, while the Slovene Development Company managed to take control over Smelt Intag at the end of the week.
