Review of Events in Slovenia from 30 January to 5 February

Ljubljana, 6 February - Premier Janez Drnovsek attended the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, early in the week. Belgian Foreign Minister Erik Derycke and Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban visited Slovenia along with Greek and Hungarian deputy Foreign Ministers Yannos Kranidiotis and Zsolth Nemeth. The Europe Agreement took effect on 1 February, with Parliament passing the reciprocity act a few days later. Franci Demsar was finally appointed as defence minister, the third to hold this post in the current mandate, while Borut Likar was dismissed from the post of Slovene police director general.
