Gov't Orders Intervention Purchase of Pigs

The government passed a decree on Thursday on the intervention purchase of 13,000 fattened pigs of Slovene origin at a price of SIT 196 a kilo. By adopting the decree, the government wants to prevent serious economic consequences of the crisis in pig breeding. Within ten days the Competition Protection Office is to propose a procedure to introduce an interim anti-dumping levy, i.e. a compensation duty, and submit it to the government.
