Some Banks Lower Interest Rates

The Slovene Banks' Association (ZBS) has recently recommended that ZBS members reduce the highest deposit interest rates on domestic and foreign currency deposits after 1 March. It suggested that the highest yearly interest rates should range from 1 percent on call deposits to the base rate plus 4 percent (TOM+4%) on over 2-year deposits. Although not binding, the ZBS recommendation took effect on Monday, the day when the inter-bank agreement on the highest deposit interest rates expired.
