Kobarid Museum of First World War (Presentation)

The Kobarid Museum of the First World War opened on 20 October 1990 and received 100,000 visitors in less than six months after opening. The collection has also received wide attention abroad. Besides winning the Valvasor Award in 1992, the highest museological award in Slovenia, it was this year given the highest European award, the Council of Europe Award, for "its historic setting, its content and its arrangement". Representatives of the museum accepted the award in Strasbourg on 11 May 1993, two days after Slovenia's admittance to the Council of Europe.
