There's been no telling of how many conflicts, bad blood and no-hear no-see correspondence between the government, the insurance agencies, party leaders and the insurance office have been there about Slovene insurance companies. And yet, it seems we will have a last-moment EU-forced privatization of the insurance agency property, which is by no means a good prospect for Slovenia's insurance business. The new legislation has swung the door wide open to foreign capital in the insurance sector. The new bill proposes further opening although the enforcement of certain articles in the new legislation has been postponed until Slovenia becomes full member of the EU, Maribor's daily Vecer writes Friday.
