Slovene diplomacy closely monitored events in Yugoslavia. The crisis was also the main theme of a lecture by Premier Janez Drnovsek at Ljubljana's Faculty of Social Sciences. Foreign Minister Boris Frlec attended the EU conference in Bonn that dealt with the refugee problem and the resulting humanitarian problems in Macedonia, Albania and Montenegro. The government approved SIT 46.6 million of humanitarian aid in food and other supplies for Kosovo refugees. The Serb community in Slovenia organised demonstrations in Ljubljana to protest violence in Yugoslavia.
