Opening Of Air Traffic Control Centre

Ljubljana, 12 November - LJUBLJANA/TRAFFIC/AIR/CENTRE/OPENING
Igor Umek, Minister of Transport and Communication, ceremonially opened the new Air Traffic Control Centre at the State Office of Air Transport. In his speech at the opening, Umek said that the Centre proved that Slovenia had overcome one more psychological inhibition and became part of European airspace. Investments for the Centre came to DEM 25 million, and the total investment for the entire project of organisation and control of air traffic which Slovenia is undertaking jointly with Siemens AG will amount to DEM 44.5 million. The opening was attended by ministers Lojze Peterle, Ivan Bizjak, and Lojze Janko, representatives of the Austrian and German embassies and Siemens AG.
