Dnevnik; Shifting Relations in Party Scene

Ljubljana, 20 April - PRESS/DNEVNIK/POLL
Slovene political parties have seen their relations and the balance of power shifting in recent weeks according a public opinion poll carried by the newspaper Dnevnik on Tuesday. The spring parties (SLS, SKD, SDS) are catching up with their frontrunners, the People's Party (SLS) has strengthened its position, while the United List of Social Democrats (ZLSD) has seen its standing flag for no conspicuous reason. Popularity has dropped significantly for Zmago Jelincic's Slovene National Party (SNS). The government has obviously survived, managing to get over main coalition frictions and still mustering a high amount of popular support, analyst Vlado Miheljak comments the poll's results.
