If the Slovene People's Party (SLS) and Slovene Christian Democrats (SKD) manage to reach a deal to merge, the SLS would find it easier to retain and consolidate its leading position amongst centrist and moderate right-wing voters. In this way the SLS would have a good chance to win a relative majority, SLS leader Marjan Podobnik said in an interview with his party's publication Brazde.
