Holmec Affair Was not Designed to Discredit Policemen

Several months' investigation yielded first results in unwinding the Vic Holmec affair, which prompted resignations by former Interior Minister Mirko Bandelj and Slovene Police Chief Borut Likar earlier this year. As established by the Interior Ministry internal commission, the affair was aimed chiefly to disqualify certain employees within the ministry, rather than an attempt to discredit Slovene police units participating in Slovenia's 10-day war in 1991.
