Weekly Review of Events in Slovenia from 1 through 7 May

Last week the Slovene and Croatian delegations met with William Perry, former U.S. secretary of defence, in an attempt to find a solution to the sea border in Piran Bay. The government adopted a new public media bill and the bill on the foundation of the First Pension Fund of the Republic of Slovenia. The National Council decided to send the law on the interior ministry intelligence and security service to the Constitutional Court for scrutiny. First Kosovo refugees arrived in Slovenia. On 1 May the Amsterdam Treaty entered into force, while Italian Minister for European Affairs Enrico Letta visited Slovenia. Slovenia's President Milan Kucan visited Lithuania.
