Weekly Review of Slovene Economy from 8 through 14 May

Ljubljana, 16 May - The government passed Thursday its position papers for four areas of negotiations with the EU, including the free movement of capital, the economic and monetary union, welfare policy and employment, and energy. Slovenia will request a transitional period for oil reserves (energy) and potentially two more transition periods in the areas of welfare policy and energy, Janez Potocnik, head of the Slovene EU membership core negotiation team said after the government session. According to Potocnik several matters remained open in the complex position papers. The latter will be delivered to Brussels after adoption in the parliament.
