Globalisation - A Threat or Opportunity?

Highly diverse opinions about the impact of globalisation on the world and its cultures were voiced in Thursday's debates about national literatures and globalisation at the 32nd International Writers' Meeting at Slovenia's lake-side resort of Bled. Some of the participants also pointed out the mirror process of division to smaller, enclosed units, such as was the case in Bosnia and Herzegovina after the war when the once common Serb-Croat language was divided to four different languages with the absurd result of each of the four entitites seeking to take possession of a part of the work of the Nobel laureate for literature Ivo Andric.
