Weekly Review of Slovene Economy from 22 through 28 May
Ljubljana, 30 May - An interpellation motion against Slovene Agriculture Minister Ciril Smrkolj was filed on Friday by 11 lawmakers of the opposition United List of Social Democrats (ZLSD), the opposition Slovene National Party (SNS) and the coalition Slovene Pensioners' Democratic Party (DeSUS) accusing the minister of abusing power in changing the purpose of agricultural plots in the municipalities of Race-Fram, near Maribor, and Lukovica, near Ljubljana. More precisely, Smrkolj was accused of being responsible for the classification of agricultural land as plots to be used for construction, by which the land gained in price.
